In 2011, the HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Altoona celebrates 25 years of serving Central Pennsylvania with the finest inpatient and outpatient physical rehabilitation programs and services.

The hospital in the only rehabilitation hospital in the United States to hold disease specific program certifications, by the Joint Commission, for Stroke, Brain Injury, Spinal Injury and Cardiac conditions. In addition to these four core programs, HealthSouth Altoona specializes in orthopedics, neurological, pulmonary and many other diagnoses. Each of our patients is treated by a specilaized team of professionals -- each with an individualized treatment program, coordinated by a physiatrist (rehab physician), to result in the highest possible functional improvement.

In 2011, the hospital will add 9 additional patient rooms bringing our bed capacity to 80 beds. The hospital also operates outpatient clinics in Altoona, Duncansville, Tyrone, Ebensburg, Bedford and Huntingdon.
